Shift ONE is a fast-growing Creative, Integrated, Marketing Agency based in Big Bay, Cape Town. We are looking for a copywriter who is very creative and loves to conceptualise campaigns (and who loves alliteration).

This individual will work with a team of young, bright, eager creative who love what they do, who are learning fast and who work on projects for big brands and fast growing entrepreneurs.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Job level: Junior
Type: Internship with a view to coming on board full time after 3 months if the right candidate
Education: Appropriate copywriting diploma or degree from a recognised institution

The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Copywriting Requirements

  • Social Media
    • Create content plan, with posts written out in accordance with client’s brief
    • Create competitions that meet client’s brief and goals
    • Research and write blogs in accordance with client expectations
    • Research relevant forums and post accordingly
  • Video & Animations
    • Writing of scripts in accordance with the brief
  • PPC
    • Do keyword research
    • Understand the goals – traffic or sales
    • Writing of ads and banner copy
  • Website
    • Research and write content
    • SEO of site including keyword research
  • Writing
    • Research and write thought pieces and press release in accordance with client expectations
  • Research of Trends
    • Stay up to date with latest trends in digital and content marketing
    • Share trends with the team
  • PR
    • Research and write in accordance with client expectations
    • Write speeches for events
  • Email
    • Research and write in accordance with client expectations
  • Additional digital marketing requirements as needed

Creative Conceptualisation

  • Work with the graphic design team in order to conceptualise the direction of the campaign or work being done

General Requirements

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent understanding of digital marketing
  • Passion for social media
